WARN M8000 8000-lb Winch review
Amazon Customer Rating Jeeper's Rating
The bad: The 12 foot lead cord on the wired remote could be a little longer.
The bottom line: With its 8000-lb capacity, the WARN M8000 Winch has enough pull to get you out of the stickiest off-road situations. Its low-profile design and separate control box allows for a variety of mounting options, making it a perfect fit for your Jeep.
The WARN M8000 uses a 3-stage planetary gear-train for stable and smooth winching. I don't need to tell you about the excess wear and tear that is put on the entire winch system if the pull isn't nice and smooth. And the automatic direct drive cone brake gives you much more control than you will find in cheaper winches.

The WARN brand has been around since 1948, and they have been making Jeep parts right from the start. They have a strong reputation with the off-roading community for reliability, and you often here the phrase "it's a WARN" from owners when others ask how they like their winch. The WARN brand name is just that solid.
And speaking of solid, the WARN M8000's pull capacity beats out a lot of the cheaper competitors at this price point. It can quickly haul a fallen tree of the trail, or get your buddy out of that mudpit you warned him that his H2 just couldn't handle.

The 100 feet of 5/16 inch wire rope should be enough length to get you out of any sticky situation, and the 4.8hp motor more than does the job when it comes to pulling your Jeep.
The control box is actually a separate piece, which gives you a variety of mounting options. And the 12 foot wired rubber remote feels nice and sturdy, although there might be times when you wish that it was more like 25 feet long. That is where a wireless control system can come in handy (not included, but recommended).

Jeeper's Verdict
The WARN M8000 is a little more expensive than the average lower-end winching systems. However for the peace of mind, I think it's totally worth a little extra. It often pays for itself in the first use. And the last thing you want to worry about when you are out tearing up the trails is whether or not your winch will be able to pull you out of trouble. It will. Trust me. It's a WARN.
